A parent signs in with their email. A child signs in with the username their parent created. These are separate accounts: signing in as a parent does not open a child’s tests.
Back to topParent details first, email verification last
- Select Enroll Now or Enroll Your Child.
- Enter your parent name, email and a unique 6–10 character password with at least one capital letter and one number. Check your email spelling, read the linked Terms & Conditions and tick the unchecked “I agree to the Terms & Conditions” box.
- Select Continue to Child Details. Your parent account is created and you stay signed in. No verification email is sent at this stage.
- Add your children and packages, then complete payment and submit each child’s registration.
- After the last child submission, the portal sends the verification email and opens Step 4. Follow the link and select Verify Email. Links last 24 hours.
- After verification, continue to your parent dashboard. The administrator must also confirm and approve each payment before courses unlock.
On mobile, tap the purple Menu button to open the website-style dropdown. Select a page to continue, or press Menu again to close it.
On Sign In, enter your email/username and password. Use the eye icon at the right of any password field to show or hide your password.
If you leave before finishing, sign in with the same parent email and password to resume. Avoid registering again or paying twice. In Step 4, check spam and use Send / Resend Verification Email if needed; wait five minutes between links. If delivery fails, your child details and payment submissions stay saved. Contact support if the email address is incorrect.
Back to topAdd one or several children
- In Step 2, enter the child’s first name or nickname, age group, unique 5–30 character username and separate 6–10 character password with at least one capital letter and one number.
- Select Monthly (KSh 3,000 / 30 days), Quarterly (KSh 8,500 / 90 days) or Annual (KSh 32,000 / 365 days). Each package is per child.
- Select Save Child / Add Another. The child appears in Your enrollment overview. Repeat for other children before paying.
- After saving all children, select Continue to Payments. The first unfinished child’s payment page opens.
The combined package value is an overview only: pay each child separately using the amount on their payment page and a separate receipt for each payment. Do not pay the combined total as one receipt. Up to ten children, including unfinished drafts, can be saved under one parent. Children do not need email addresses or dates of birth. Save their usernames and passwords privately.
Existing verified parents can add another child through Enroll a child in their dashboard and Continue to Payment. Unfinished registrations can be resumed. Child sign-in and courses stay blocked until registration is submitted, the parent email is verified and payment is approved.
Back to topPayment, registration submission and final verification
- On Step 3, confirm the child, package and exact amount.
- For an STK prompt, enter your M-Pesa phone number and request the prompt. Check the business name and amount before entering the PIN on your phone. Never enter the PIN on the website.
- After paying, use Check Payment Status if needed, tick I have completed the M-Pesa payment and select Submit Child Registration.
- Alternatively, pay the displayed amount through Buy Goods and Services to Till 9537755, enter the actual receipt in Pay manually and choose Submit Paid Enrollment.
- If another saved child is unfinished, the portal opens their payment page next. Each child requires their own payment and receipt.
- After the final submission, Step 4 opens and a verification email is sent. Follow its link and choose Verify Email. If sending fails, retry from Step 4 without paying again.
Payment submission and your confirmation checkbox do not prove payment or unlock courses. The school checks the actual receipt, payer and exact package amount before approval. Email verification is also required. Sandbox tests never activate memberships.
In the enrollment overview, pending or uncertain payments need review before another payment. For a rejected payment, use Review / Retry Payment after checking M-Pesa records. Do not pay twice. Requests without a checkout ID need support review.
Renewing an existing child
After email verification, use Renew an existing child or the manual payment form in your parent dashboard. Choose the child and package. Existing child details do not need to be re-entered. Approval extends the current future expiry or starts a new term from approval when expired. No automatic deductions are made.
Back to topWatching lessons and completing tests
- Sign out of the parent account if necessary, then sign in with the child username and password.
- Select Explore Course for Digital Literacy, Online Safety, Coding Foundations or AI Foundations.
- Choose a published lesson and select Open Lesson.
- Play the video in the active browser tab with an internet connection. Progress saves while it plays. Watch at least 80%; jumping to the end does not replace watching.
- Read the Key idea and try the Tap the best answer activity until you get the answer right.
- Attempt the age-group practice activity. You can use the idea board to sketch your plan.
- In Quick check, choose the correct answer, tick I tried the practice activity and write a reflection of 10–1,000 characters.
- Select Complete Lesson. On success, the lesson changes to Completed and the course count increases.
Use Back 10 seconds, Playback speed or captions when helpful. The videos use fictional AI teachers; the live one-on-one is a separate meeting with your assigned teacher.
If an answer is wrong, read the idea again and retry. You may need to repeat the interactive practice after reloading the page. Keep one lesson tab open while watching; inactive tabs and connection interruptions can prevent progress from saving. Report any persistent saving error to support.
Drawing and coding practice
On the idea board, draw with your mouse or touch. Arrow keys draw with the keyboard and Home lifts the pen. Clear drawing starts again. Save my drawing keeps a PNG on your device; unsaved drawings disappear when you leave the page.
Coding lessons include a playground. Add Forward and Right Turn instructions, choose repeats and select Run Your Program. Use Undo, Clear or Try a Square to explore. Describe your experiment in the reflection. Playground work stays in the browser while the page is open; it is not automatically uploaded as an assignment.
Back to topJoining weekly one on one lessons
- Agree a weekly time with the school. The administrator assigns a teacher and a one-hour slot while the child’s membership is active.
- Sign in as the child or parent and select Live Lessons.
- Find the child, teacher, topic and date under Upcoming sessions. All displayed times use Kenya time.
- Return shortly before the lesson. Join Google Meet appears 10 minutes before the start and closes at the scheduled end.
- Select Join Google Meet. Allow microphone and camera access if asked and request admission when Google requires it.
- A parent can accompany their child. After the lesson, return to Session history to read teacher feedback and recorded attendance.
The parent sees only their own children’s sessions and the child sees only their own sessions. A full hour must fit within paid access. One session is scheduled per child per Monday–Sunday week. Future dates appear within the membership and extend after renewal when the timetable is refreshed.
The video call opens in Google Meet, not inside the portal. The teacher controls admission and the end of the call. The portal does not record the meeting. Appointment emails are not sent automatically by the portal; your teacher may send a Google Calendar invitation separately.
Back to topReports reminders and account management
- Sign in as the parent and open Your children to see completed lessons, usernames and membership dates.
- Select Current progress for a text report of this month’s activity, or Download last month’s report for the previous month. These learning-report controls are separate from the read-only User Guides.
- Open Live Lessons and expand the child under Children & progress for watched time, completed lessons and reflections.
- Read Session history for teacher-recorded attendance and feedback.
- To receive weekend learning reminders, tick Send me weekend learning reminders in the parent dashboard and select Save email preferences.
New parent sign-ups have weekend reminders off until enabled. You can switch them off again in the dashboard or use the reminder email’s unsubscribe link. Reminder delivery depends on the school’s scheduled task and only applies to active children with unfinished lessons. Verification messages and monthly reports are separate.
Monthly reports are emailed to verified parents when the school’s report schedule is configured. They count participation, completed lessons and quiz checks, including retries. They are not a teacher assessment of mastery. Payment history remains available in the parent dashboard.
Back to topResetting passwords and getting help
A parent who forgot their password
- Open Sign In and select Forgot your password?.
- Enter your account email and request the reset link, even if enrollment email verification is unfinished. Check your inbox and spam folder.
- Follow the link, enter a new 6–10 character password with at least one capital letter and one number and select Update Password.
- Sign in again. The link expires after one hour and can be used once. If it expires, request a new one; requests are limited to once every five minutes.
A child who forgot their password
- Ask the parent to sign in to their parent dashboard.
- Expand the child’s Reset child password section, enter a new 6–10 character password with at least one capital letter and one number and select Update Password.
- Use the same child username with the new password. The child does not receive an email reset link.
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| No verification or reset email | Check spam and email spelling. Contact support if delivery continues to fail or the account is suspended. |
| Payment made but lessons locked | Check Payment history and confirm your parent email verification and ask the school to confirm administrator approval. |
| Complete Lesson rejected | Check watched time, interactive practice, correct answer, activity confirmation and reflection length. |
| Drawing disappeared | Drawings are not saved automatically. Use Save my drawing before leaving the lesson. |
| No weekly session or Join button | Confirm the timetable, membership, session status and joining window with the school. |
| Details do not match | Parents use email; children use their assigned username. Check the password and account type. |
Use WhatsApp support on the website or portal, call +254 729 175 634, or email info@thefuturefounderslab.org. Share the relevant page, error text, child name and payment reference privately where needed. Never send your password or M-Pesa PIN. Sign out when finished on a shared device.
Back to topGetting help with account access
The school administrator can suspend or restore account access, set a replacement password or email a password-reset link after verifying your identity. Teacher links go to the teacher email; child links go to the verified parent. Links expire after one hour and work once. A password reset does not restore suspended access or extend a membership. Suspending a parent also blocks their children. Contact support if sign-in stops working.
Branded learning report downloads
In the parent dashboard, choose Download Report for your child. The report downloads as a PDF with the school’s FFL logo mark, brand colours and Helvetica type. It includes the reporting month, child age group, monthly lesson completions, quiz attempts and current overall completion count. Longer reports continue across numbered pages. Keep downloaded child reports private.
Live M-Pesa payment prompts
Choose a child and membership, then submit your M-Pesa phone number. Enter the PIN only in the prompt on your phone after checking the business name and amount. If no prompt arrives, check Payment history and contact support before sending another request. School approval is still required after payment. You can alternatively pay to Buy Goods Till 9537755 and submit the receipt for review.
Download Parent + Child ManualCompact child lists
Children appear as compact rows. Click a row to see reports, membership details and password support. Use Search, Age group and Status, then Apply. Lists show ten results per page; use Previous or Next, or Clear to remove filters. Your parent account can only see its own children.
Reset your own password
- Open Sign In and select Forgot your password?.
- Enter the email saved on your parent, teacher or administrator account and select Send Reset Link.
- Check your inbox and spam folder, open the link and choose a unique new password of 6–10 characters, including at least one capital letter and one number.
- Sign in with the new password. Previous signed-in sessions are invalidated.
Links last one hour, work once and can be requested again after five minutes. The page gives the same response for unknown, blocked and eligible accounts. Suspended parents, teachers and admins cannot receive or use reset links. Disabled teachers must first be enabled by the administrator.
Unverified parents can recover their password and resume enrollment. A password reset does not verify email, approve payment, extend membership or restore suspended access. Children continue to use parent/admin assistance rather than the public reset request page. If email delivery fails or you cannot access the saved inbox, contact school support. SMTP must be configured.
Parent demo account
Select Click Here to Try Demo during parent signup, or open /learn/demo.php. Select Click Here to Try Demo on the welcome screen to enter the sample parent dashboard. No signup, payment or email verification is needed.
Parent Dashboard highlights Child Classroom, Weekly One-on-Ones and Progress & Reports. View the sample child, play the real digital-literacy sample lesson and answer the demo check to see sample progress change. Weekly One-on-Ones displays a fictional timetable, feedback and joining-flow preview; it does not open a real teacher call.
The demo lasts one hour and uses fictional children and sample records. Reset Demo Progress resets only the sample check. Exit Demo returns to the demo welcome screen. Demo visitors cannot access real child records, meetings, payments or administration. The demo is separate from the real account Sign In page.
To enroll, select Enroll Your Child and complete parent details, child details, payment and email verification. Demo exploration does not enroll a child or approve payment. Existing real account sessions are kept separate.
Projects, progress and your child’s next step
The top of your parent dashboard shows each child’s next lesson, next weekly session, membership and progress. Open “How your child signs in” for their username and instructions. On a shared device, sign out first, then sign in with the child’s username and private password.
Children open Projects & Portfolio to see their work and feedback. Each lesson has a workspace: a coding editor, practice desktop, safety situation, AI simulation or project plan. Save draft keeps the work privately. Submit for teacher review sends it to the assigned teacher. Save drawing to portfolio also keeps the idea-board drawing; Save experiment keeps the coding playground. Use imaginary names and details. If a save fails, keep the page open and retry.
Entry assessment and meaningful progression
The child completes the eight-question Entry assessment in their own account. It suggests foundation review or extensions. Follow the twelve-course suggested year at your own pace; project workshop lessons unlock in order. Foundation videos work at 0.75×, 1×, 1.25×, 1.5× or 2×. Only played sections count; skipped sections and repeated viewing do not earn extra credit.
A course certificate requires every lesson completed and the final course project reviewed by a teacher at 70/100 or above. This is a school learning certificate, not an accredited qualification. Teacher scores and feedback are separate from lesson participation.
Family checkout and payment stages
Save each child’s details, then choose Family checkout to select children and packages. Review the total before paying. Manual payments use Buy Goods and Services Till 9537755. Enter the single receipt for the exact total. STK requests one phone prompt for the total. The school allocates the payment to each selected child after checking business records. Do not reuse a family receipt in individual payments.
After payment, submit the children and verify your parent email. Payment request, school review and course activation are separate stages. Successful STK confirmation does not automatically grant access. If an STK request is uncertain, contact WhatsApp support with your receipt, time and phone; do not pay again. The admin can reconcile the existing request.
Reports and notifications
Payment history shows each child, package, receipt, approval and recorded access period. Current and monthly PDF reports include course progress, activity, teacher project feedback, attendance and a specific next step. Account approval, payment attention, expiry and timetable changes generate separate branded notifications when the school’s scheduled job runs. Weekend reminders remain optional and skip suspended families.
Absences, cancellations and makeup sessions
Open Session requests and select the session. Explain your absence and request a makeup. Staff reply with a decision and next steps. A request is not a booking; check Live Lessons for a confirmed time. Give notice before a planned absence where possible. Makeup availability depends on the teacher and remaining membership.
Compact private portfolios
Parents open Projects & Portfolio to see a compact list of their own children. Search or filter the list and select Open portfolio. Children see their own portfolio immediately. Projects are collapsed and show ten per page; search the title or filter by review status. Expand a project to read its work and feedback. Learning overview and course milestones open separately. Saved work and feedback remain private.
